Performance problem with Xalan 2.0 -> 2.4

This is the trace-information of the above XSLT-transformation.
Note :
The lines that start with "*******" are trace information from my application.
I'm tracing if the elements of :
"RegistrationRoot/years/item/productionLines/item/months/item/batches"
are being visited. (I also printed a Throwable to see what xalan is doing at
that moment)

I attach the trace-information of xalan-2.0 (events_xalan20.log) and
 of xalan-2.4 (events_xalan24.log).
