[jira] [Commented] (DRILL-7728) Drill SPI framework

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-7728?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17331652#comment-17331652 ]

Paul Rogers commented on DRILL-7728:
------------------------------------

The idea of an improves storage plugin mechanism is still valid. The Presto SPI approach seems to make sense. Work was done to refactor the existing mechanism to prepare for an SPI-like version. However, work paused when I no longer had time to move the project forward (and there was, at that time, no compelling need.) Leaving this unresolved so it can be picked up later if/when the need arises.
