specifying a smtp

Hi,

I have a  http://www.nabble.com/Continuum-Emails-td12080921.html#a12895546
similar issue  like the link, I can't find a plexus.xml under conf to
specify the smtp, but I do find a
apps/continuum/WEB-INF/classes/META-INF/plexus/application.xml, any idea how
to setup a smtp server? thanks,
