The http://hadoop.apache.org/releases.html page links to http://www.apache.org/dyn/closer.cgi/hadoop/common/ which provides a list of mirrors.  The first one on the list (for me) is http://www.alliedquotes.com/mirrors/apache/hadoop/common/ which is 404.

I checked the rest of the mirrors in the list and only alliedquotes is 404.
