Header attack?

Good morning everyone,

   Has anyone heard of any type of attack that might affect the headers of a http request?

   Been having difficulty accessing some pages all of a sudden.  Especially, ones that have a lot of meta-tags and different Content types?

  I am running apache 1.3.20 on red hat 6.2

Any help or direction would be appreciated.
