[PR] KAFKA-21300: Fix Streams group task ownership index rollback [kafka]
chickenchickenlove opened a new pull request, #23849:
URL: https://github.com/apache/kafka/pull/23849
Fixes KAFKA-21300.
Fix snapshot rollback of the standby and warm-up task ownership indexes in the Streams group coordinator.
Previously, process ID sets stored inside TimelineHashMap were mutated in place. When a log append failed, rolling back member assignments could leave those index mutations intact. This could block active task assignment in UNRELEASED_TASKS despite there being no actual owner, or fail to recognize a restored owner and allow conflicting assignments within the same process.
Preserve the existing sets when adding or removing process IDs and store updated copies in the map, keeping member assignments and ownership indexes consistent after rollback.
