RFC specifically \Recent from flag and so from flag-list. \Recent is managed by the server only.

I've updated the newer IMAP implementation so that the parser ignores \Recent but does not throw a ProtocolException. 

Do you know of any specific client issues which require deviation from the RFC?

Do you read the RFC differently to me?
