Heads up on more sweeping UI changes

Hi folks,

I had been sending notes on changes coming to the Atlas UI, the last one was sent here: http://apache.markmail.org/message/rrrrv24an2j5pzyz?q=New+Atlas+dashboard+made+default

Since then, we have made many more changes to the UI to make it richer. This is being tracked in https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ATLAS-802. However, as is the case with a major revamp, there is an initial loss of some functionality along with a lot of new functions.

I have tested this patch and marked the comments on the JIRA itself, but I wanted to call this out on the mailing list for more attention.

Since this is a big patch already, and because a majority of the functionality is working (sans the regressions I have marked in the JIRA), we would like to commit it ASAP. We will follow this up immediately with the necessary fixes to bring back the Atlas UI functionality to better state than before. Some of the regressions are already being addressed as part of work in progress JIRAs (ATLAS-805, ATLAS-774)

I am sending this email out as a heads up. Once committed, we would request you to please try this out and give us feedback on what you feel via JIRA or on this list.

Seeking your cooperation,

Thanks
Hemanth
