Summary: Eliminate GUI class-loading in non-GUI mode
           Product: JMeter
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Main
        AssignedTo: jmeter-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: sebb@apache.org

Consider changing non-GUI mode so that it does not load any GUI classes.

This means changing the Save service XML aliasing.

Also need to change the class searching to skip GUI classes somehow - can this
be done via the path name?

If this can't be done, one could perhaps change the relevant GUI classes so
that screen items are not created statically?

No idea, but it has been fixed anyway.

It's in the current nightlies, if you want to try that.

Does this problem cause non-gui startup to try to connect to an X server on
linux when starting in non-gui mode?

------- Additional Comments From sebb@apache.org 2007-11-18 12:13 -------
SaveService has been recoded so it no longer loads classes merely to establish
aliases. This is in SVN and will be in the next release.
