1.6.0 will not include support for Tomcat 10 (Jakarta EE) - this is slated
for 2.0, along with the shift from AngularJS to Angular.

We try to be as distribution-agnostic as we possibly can, so we do not
provide direct instructions or "support" for specific distributions. In the
manual you'll find a list of the required libraries, and the package names
that roughly translate to most of the current Linux distributions (Red
Hat-based and Debian-based), but it may take some work to figure out if and
when package names change between various versions of various distributions.
You're always welcome to ask, here, and, as you can see, you'll get a lot
of support :-).

Sean is correct in this.
Ubuntu 24.04 carries Tomcat 10 which doesn’t work with Guac.
I had to install Tomcat 9 from an alternative Ubuntu repo (older Ubuntu version) in order to obtain / run Tomcat 9.

External email. Please make sure you trust this source before clicking links or opening attachments.
Keep in mind Ubuntu 24.04 LTS defaults to Tomcat 10 (Servlet/JSP are now night and day from 9.0.x) and this will not work with Guacamole, best to install 9.0.x from source. Unless 1.6.x release is going to support it, Mike or Nick can correct me on this.

The documentation mentions Debian based (Debian/Ubunut) and RHEL based systems (RHEL/Fedora/CentOS), but you can build it anywhere (I personally use it with a docker image based on Alpine).

As long as you can get the required packages to build guacd, and you can run a servlet server like Tomcat, you're good to go.
