New script install ffmpeg on Ubuntu and Debian 8-7
Hello,
Ffmpeg compiled basing on this url:
https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/CompilationGuide/Ubuntu
I found a reference to the latest versions of x264 and ffmpeg giving an
error related to mp4 when recording Interview room.
Therefore i turned to make a script that handles download, compile and
install ffmpeg on Ubuntu and Debian 8-7 in which i replaced the latest
versions of both by other a few months ago.
They are working properly and mp4.
The above script i've added in the tutorials called:
Installation OpenMeetings 3.0.x on Ubuntu 14.04.pdf
Installation OpenMeetings 3.0.x on Jessie.pdf
...you can find them:
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OPENMEETINGS/Tutorials+for

Best Regards
Alvaro

The vacation was fantastic, thanks :)
let's try to investigate your problem:
1) stop OM
2) delete everything in the "log" folder
3) ensure user you are using to start OM has rights to write into "log",
"webapps/openmeetings/upload", "webapps/openmeetings/uploadtemp" recurcively
4) start OM
5) ensure log/openmeetings.log is created (after some delay) and contuously
filled with contents
6) try to upload anything into room

And one more question, OpenMeetings and apache2 are installed on same

Unfortunately there is nothing written in the three logs while I try to
upload. I was looking simultaneously with tail -f into
jvm.out
openmeetings.log
red5.log
and nothing happend. :-(
I just stopped OpenMeetings, deleted any logs, restarted it and tried to
upload something.
I will give you the entire Logfiles.
When I clicked on the upload Button, the Logfiles where on line:
* red5.log line 141
* jvm.out line 6748
* OpenMeetings.log 6518
Hope it will help anyway
Kind regards

Today I added a new user to OpenMeetings. It worked, but I was confused,
that I could not see him in the database (mysql) in the om_user table.
Could it be that there is some connection problem between OpenMeetings
and the MySQL Database which is also responsible for my uploading problem?

If you changed red5.properties you should disable apache2 service.

I found typo in configuration file, that I sent previously. See fixed
file in attachment.
Also I don't see OpenMeetings here:
http://openmeetings.bildung-rp.de:5080/openmeetings/
If you use this server only for OpenMeetings, you can change https port
in red5.properties file:
https.port=5443 -> https.port=443
Then stop apache2, and restart Red5.
WBR,
Denis Kandrov.

Update:
I just saw in the /opt/om/log/openmeetings.log that OpenMeetings won't
start with the https Port 443 in red5.properties, so I changed it back
to 5443

I did your suggested changings.
Yes, the Server is only for OpenMeetings, so I also changed the https
port in red5.properties file to 443.
The URL of the Server is:
https://openmeetings.bildung-rp.de/openmeetings/
and now I get the following error message in /var/log/apache2/error.log:
[Tue Jun 30 13:18:08 2015] [error] (111)Connection refused: proxy:
HTTPS: attempt to connect to 192.168.199.48:5080
(openmeetings.bildung-rp.de) failed
[Tue Jun 30 13:18:08 2015] [error] ap_proxy_connect_backend disabling
worker for (openmeetings.bildung-rp.de)
[Tue Jun 30 13:18:33 2015] [error] proxy: HTTPS: disabled connection for
(openmeetings.bildung-rp.de)
(192.168.199.48 is the IP Adress of the Server)

Maybe you did not wait for the start Openmeetings?
After restart Red5 in log file ./log/openmeetings.log you should see
message like following:
##################################################
# Openmeetings is up #
# 3.0.6-RELEASE 1680981 22-May-2015 #
# and ready to use #
##################################################
This means that the OpenMeetingsstarted.

Hello,
I checked your configuration file. As I see you try create https proxy
and send https traffic through it. But this is not good idea, because
you will have double traffic encryption.
Try to change following lines:
ProxyPass /openmeetings/
https://openmeetings.bildung-rp.de:5443/openmeetings/
ProxyPassReverse /openmeetings/
https://openmeetings.bildung-rp.de:5443/openmeetings/
onto:
ProxyPass /openmeetings/
https://openmeetings.bildung-rp.de:5080/openmeetings/
ProxyPassReverse /openmeetings/
https://openmeetings.bildung-rp.de:5080/openmeetings/
With this configuration apache2 server will encrypt http traffic from
red5 server.
С уважением,
Денис Кандров.

It seems request is not reaching OM, Maybe you can suggest what can be done
here (which logs can be checked or something)

We are using apache2 as frontend to redirect https.
Here is the /etc/apache2/conf.d/openmeetings

Thanks for your time.
I did everything as you told and the openmeetings.log is created and
filled contuously with content. (tail -f /opt/om/log/openmeetings.log)
BUT, when I try to upload anything I get the "HTTP-Error: 302" and
absolutly nothing is written into the log.

Hm,
there are logs in /opt/om/log
red5.log
openmeetings.log
jvm.out
error.log (0 bytes)
and a few rotatings from openmeetings.log
Unfortunately no one of these logs are reacting when I use tail -f and
try to upload a file. :-(

This maybe a stupid questions, but WHERE does openmeetings store it's logs?
In my installation path
/opt/om/openmeetings/log/
there are only binary files. In /var/log there are no specified
Openmeetings-Logfiles.
I just found something in /var/log/apache2/other_vhosts_access.log
This one is reacting, when I try to upload something:

...well, think that better than copy and paste
the script text, can be errors, is to download it.
I add, on the mentioned tutorials, a link to download
the script in a zip file.
