Exception: No provider for smtp

Hi,

My second problem is with outgoing mail.

If the recipient is in the outer world, the message is not sent and an
exception occurs (see below).

I use dial-up Internet connection. ISP connection was already established
(and the same) at the moments of James startup and mail processing.

What may be wrong or missing?

Regards,
Sergey Ushakov

Sergey,

I've thought about this quite a bit and can't even guess at what the problem
would be. Maybe the Locale you're running in is an issue? Also what OS/JVM
are you using? Any other pertinent details so I can try to recreate the
problem?

Re: Exception: No provider for smtp

Serge, I have revised my CLASSPATH and the jars.

Original mail_1_2.jar is in the right place, there is no stray mail* class
archives in the system, and the command line that launches James is not
truncated.

Can I do anything to debug the issue?

Regards,
Sergey Ushakov

Re: Exception: No provider for smtp

This is rather strange. There should be a mail_1_2.jar in the lib directory
that's about 275kb. In there, there should be 3 classes in the
com.sun.mail.smtp package.

Maybe it's finding a different mail.jar first in your classpath (do you have
a stripped version somewhere else in your classpath that's defined before
you start James?)
