[jira] Created: (RAT-19) [GOOGLE-2] Allow for an optional per-project config file

[GOOGLE-2] Allow for an optional per-project config file
--------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: RAT-19
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/RAT-19
             Project: RAT
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Robert Burrell Donkin

<blockquote cite='http://code.google.com/p/arat/issues/detail?id=2'>
It would be easy to reduce the number of false positives by allowing
projects to have a config file (.rat?) that lets them list files that are
known to trigger false positives but are safe to ignore

[jira] Closed: (RAT-19) [GOOGLE-2] Allow for an optional per-project config file

Posted by "Gavin (JIRA)" <ji...@apache.org>.

Gavin closed RAT-19.
--------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Looks like having an internal exclusions file has the thumbs down and there are plenty of other ways to exclude files, via the cmd line with the -x or -exclude parameters, via ant tasks etc...

Jochen Wiedmann commented on RAT-19:
------------------------------------

I think this is a non-issue. IMO, this should be left to the front ends (Ant Task, Maven Plugin). They already allow to specify inclusions and exclusions.
