*NOT* embedding TrueTypeFont in PDF causes AcrobatReader displaying only dots
Summary: *NOT* embedding TrueTypeFont in PDF causes AcrobatReader
displaying only dots
Product: Fop
Version: 0.20.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: Other
Component: general
AssignedTo: fop-dev@xml.apache.org
ReportedBy: markusmueller@web.de
When creating PDFs using non-standard fonts we have to create the metric file
and configure the userconfig.xml. I did so with "embed-file=..." set in the
font metrics file and everything worked fine. Now I omitted the "embed-
file=..." statement and created a new PDF-file based on the same XSL and XML
files. The result is not really nice, only dots appear in the PDF file (viewed
in Acrobat Reader). Also the font properties of the _correct_ PDF file are
quite unusual: Instead of embedding a TrueType font FOP embeds a TrueTypeCID
font using "Identity-H"-coding instead of Windows-coding.
So, how can I get FOP embedding a TrueTypeFont in Windows coding __OR__ what do
I have to do that the created PDF can be viewed correctly without embedding the
font? (The font is available on the system where the PDF is viewed).
