[jira] [Comment Edited] (METRON-219) Create Default Kibana 4 Dashboard

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/METRON-219?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15329533#comment-15329533 ]

------------------------------------------------------------

This is a low-res copy of what the new Metron dashboard built on Kibana 4 and Elasticsearch 2 should look like. The idea is that the demo dashboard serves multiple functions beyond what the original Metron dashboard did. Those functions include the following.

(1) The dashboard should serve as an introduction to Apache Metron for new users. Some level of documentation and description is embedded directly in the dashboard.

(2) The dashboard highlights key features of Apache Metron including geo-enrichment.

(3) The dashboard should highlight the advanced functionality of Kibana for creating custom dashboards and serve as an example for users to create their own dashboards.

(4) The dashboard should enable the user to determine if their default Metron installation is functioning correctly.

The proposed dashboard needs some additional clean-up, but there is a section for each source of input data in the demo environment. Above each section there is a description of the data contained in that section.

> There is no sensible default dashboard that is created for Metron's Kibana 4 user interface. Create a default dashboard that is automatically deployed with Metron that has sensible defaults to enable the user to assess basic functioning of the environment.
