[jira] [Created] (INFRA-4882) git repo inaccessible for unauthenticated users

Brandon Williams created INFRA-4882:
---------------------------------------

Summary: git repo inaccessible for unauthenticated users
                 Key: INFRA-4882
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-4882
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
          Components: Git
            Reporter: Brandon Williams

Specifically, it appears to only affect certain access methods:

All pulls fail:

cassandra-1:/srv/cassandra# git pull
error: RPC failed; result=22, HTTP code = 405
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

But listing branches works:

cassandra-1:/srv/cassandra# git remote show origin
* remote origin
  Fetch URL: http://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/cassandra.git
  Push URL: http://git-wip-us.apache.org/repos/asf/cassandra.git

For authenticated users (committers) everything still works.

Brandon Williams resolved INFRA-4882.
-------------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

It looks like the difference was http:// vs https:// which makes sense now.

Brandon Williams commented on INFRA-4882:
-----------------------------------------

Some users report this works for them, so maybe this is something tied to the netblock I was using? It's 173.203.80.x for reference.
