> It looks like org.codehaus.groovy.classgen.VariableScopeVisitor.visitDeclarationExpression is missing a call to visitAnnotations.  Classes, fields, and methods all have this call.  When I add it, the VariableExpression resolves to a ClassExpression as expected.
