Is there a way just to access the DOM objects?

Dear Axis User Group:

  It their a way to create a SOAP endpoint where the
  incomming and outgoing messages are NOT marshalled
  into individual parameter objects?

  That is, I desire to write:

     MyAxisEndpointService( DOM request, DOM response) {

        // Business logic supplied here that operates
        // on request DOM object, and properly fills
        // in response DOM object.
     }
