external POP3 server access to mail

I have an issue with James's POP3 remote mail access.

When I log into my Yahoo.com mail account and setup a remote mail account to
download new messages from James's mail server in my machine and attempt to
download new POP mail from it I keep getting the following error message
displayed by Yahoo.com:

Unfortunately, there was a problem:

POP server does not support LAST command. You may only retrieve POP mail
from this server using "get all messages".

Which comes to show that James's POP3 server does not support the LAST
command to determine which messages are new/unread in POP3 server.

Will James-dev team implement the LAST command and indeed, implement all
commands for POP3 server as stipulated in the RFC 1939 document???

Please reply back for comments.

Thanks in advance,

Sam.

Hi Samuel,

Generally, in Jakarta the first person to come up with an idea is assumed to
have volunteered to do the work.

So, thanks for volunteering ;-)

Hi,
The LAST command (which was last specified in rfc1225) was dropped from the
protocol by rfc1725 and does in fact *not* appear in rfc1939.
Therefore it is highly unlikely that it will ever be implemented.

As far as I am aware every required command from rfc1939 is supported, and
most optional commands also to some degree, however James is work in
progress, and as only alpha code has been released there is no guarantee
that any of them actually work.

The remaining optional command (APOP) may or may not be added by
contribution.
