[jira] [Commented] (NIFI-6635) Allow users the ability to create parameters from existing variables

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-6635?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17515544#comment-17515544 ]

John Wise commented on NIFI-6635:
---------------------------------

Parameter Contexts should also propagate to any embedded process groups for any converted Variables, as they currently do.  The non-inheritance of Parameter Contexts will continue to be a problem for the many orgs who rely on inheritance to make these values available downstream.

> As variables are being deprecated in favor of parameters, it would be very beneficial to provide something to ease the migration. Letting users create parameters for all existing variables would be a huge efficiency gain.
> Possibly add a button on the Variables dialog that would just create parameters named the same as the variables with the value and assign them to the current parameter context.
