How do we use https with FOP

We have an image that we'd like to access through https and have FOP render the image into the PDF.

Here is a snippet of the FOP code.

<fo:block>
<fo:external-graphic><xsl:attribute name='src'>url(https://localhost:443/csp/samples/images/zentitle.jpg)</xsl:attribute></fo:external-graphic>
</fo:block>

Here is the error we get from FOP:

'https://localhost:443/csp/samples/images/zentitle.jpg': sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

How do we set up our invocation of FOP to work with https?
