Problems using XIndice

Hi i have the following problems in using Xindice 1.0, i'm trying to
install it for my thesis.

1) Is there a way to turn of dtd validation while inserting files?
If i add them with dtd then every time i try to query them back i have
the DTD expanded inline in the file, this breaks any xmlrpc calls!
If i remove the dtd reference the parser tells me the document is
(obviously) not valid.

2) I checked out the last XIndice in CVS.. sorry for my ignorance but...
how can i start the server? I cannot find any script, nor a main java
method where it sould be (Xindice.java)

Thank you for your help

Hi,

to 2. there is no server mode in the cvs version. it runs only as
embedded or as servlet in tomcat.
