Hi Nicolas!

Although I didn't read all of the diff, I found a number of untranslated
messages (having 'msgstr ""'). Will gettext print the original (english)
string in such cases, or will it return the translation (thus making it look
like the message disappeared)?

Don't worry =). The gettext function will return the untranslated string 
if there's no translation.
