Deprecated calls and 1 failure in the SoundexTest

------- Additional Comments From ggregory@seagullsw.com 2004-09-07 18:14 -------
Hello,

The easy one first: the deprecation warnings are normal. We are preserving the
calls to the deprecated methods in the unit tests in order to make sure we
remain backwards compatible. When the deprecated methods are deleted, then we
will delete call sites in the unit tests. We have not scheduled when these
deprecated methods should be deleted but it should be in the next major release
(2.0).

Please specify what the unit test failure is you are seing. Run Ant in verbose
mode (-v) or run the unit tests separately and provide the results. You will
probably see an stack trace in the output. I did not see the failure when I
built the component: http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/codec/junit-report.html.
I do not see the failure with the current CVS code.

Please specify your Java enviroment as well (java -version).

Please confirm that you are using 1.3.

Thanks,
Gary
