chroot apache

I found this link re: chroot apache: http://rr.sans.org/web/apache_sec.php
It lists three different links for information. What is the standard for
hosting regarding chroot? Are many out there chrooting each virtual host and
I am guessing this would require a separate httpd process for each virtual
host. Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts and opinions. Thanks.
