Using jetspeed
Hello,
I'm having a problem creating new Jetspeed users. I'm running Linux 7.1,
Apache (that came with 7.1) and Tomcat (3.2). I have the latest
Jetspeed (1.3a1). The admin and turbine accounts work fine
When I try to add a user I do not get any email sent out. I've tried
localhost, the hostname of the computer, and a mail server I always
use. No luck getting the mail with the secret password.
Any ideas?

SignatureWith the latest CVS version, you can turn off the email feature:
confirm.email.enable=false
To get the email feature to work, you must have all of these settings in your JR.p:
mail.server=localhost
confirm.email.from=jetspeed@domain
confirm.email.name=Jetspeed
confirm.email.subject=Jetspeed registration
confirm.email.enable=true
The mail server should be running on your local machine.
Make sure that you have a valid mail account in your 'confirm.email.from' setting.

Did you create a user named "anon"?
When is this error message displayed, during logon?
Check your hypersonic db, and see if the user was stored in the database. There is a script 'manageDB.bat' under WEB-INF/db.
Just run that, and then type 'select * from TURBINE_USER'.
Its not a good idea to create a user named 'anon'.
I will make a note to disallow this.
Im sorry there isn't a unix version of the manageDB script. I will add one ....

There are a couple of known bugs in 1.3a1 concerning this issue. You can browse the mail archives(January 2001) for a patch or simply use the latest CVS which has a lot of improvements comparedto 1.3a1.--Raphaël Luta - luta.raphael@networks.vivendi.net---------------------------------------------------------------------To unsubscribe, e-mail: jetspeed-user-unsubscribe@jakarta.apache.orgFor additional commands, e-mail: jetspeed-user-help@jakarta.apache.org

build error
Posted by Walter Brameld <wb...@newrivernet.com>.
I've checked out the Jetspeed source with CVS, and I'm trying to compile
it. When I run
# ./build.sh war
it bombs out almost immediately with the following output:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: is
Any ideas why it is apparently looking for a class called "is?"
I'm trying to compile it on a Redhat 7.0 box with JDK 1.2.2 and Ant 1.3.
