PortletSession timeout

All,
  Thanks for your previous help with my questions. I am now facing a
minor issue with session timeouts. I am storing some variables in the
PortletSession with APPLICATION_SCOPE, and am trying to access them on
repeated requests. But, the PortletSession seems to be expiring earlier
than the jetspeed portal web session. Can somebody point me to the place
to configure the PortletSession timeout parameter?
