2020-08-29 17:28:47 UTC - Joe Francis: There is no subscriber per se. There is 'subscription', which has a persistent state. Then there is 'consumer' which can connect and disconnect to a topic, via a  subscription. Once a subscription is created, it remains until it is explicitly deleted. The subscription tracks the read/ack positions of consumer(s), so that on reconnect, consumers can resume where they left off.
