[jira] [Created] (SLING-10237) NodePropertiesVisitor.convertToValue
does not use ValueFactory
Angela Schreiber created SLING-10237:
----------------------------------------
Summary: NodePropertiesVisitor.convertToValue does not use ValueFactory
Key: SLING-10237
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SLING-10237
Project: Sling
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Repoinit
Reporter: Angela Schreiber
the method {{NodePropertiesVisitor.convertToValue}} uses specific implementations of {{javax.jcr.Value}} from jackrabbit-commons instead of using the {{ValueFactory}} associated with the JCR {{Session}}.
while for trivial types like boolean/long etc it doesn't make a difference there are some issues with more sophisticated types like names, paths, dates that the impls in commons don't handle properly as far as i remember. but neither jackrabbit 2.x nor oak use those common values for conversion/creation. so, using the {{ValueFactory}} would be a better choice.
