Navisoft was purchased by AOL and subsequently managed in, ummm, an
unusual fashion.  Basically, AOL couldn't figure out what they
really wanted to do with it, so are letting the developers give it
away for free until they do figure out what to do with it (or something
like that).

When you combine a lot of money (and even more greed) in one company with
a bunch of guys in another company that just want to see their product
used, and label it as something-similar-to-what-Netscape-does but not
competing with Netscape, then strange things happen.
