Clustering and FileSystem question.

Hi all!

In dealing with a cluster, it is clear to me that:

1 - the same journal config should be in each node.
2 - node ids should be different for each node
3 - same PM manager should be configured in each node.
4 - same DataStore config should be set in each node.

What It's not clear to me is if i can use the DBFileSystem instead of
the default LocalFileSystem and if so, Does each node need a different
config for the DbFileSystem or should they share it?

I want to keep everything in the DB, (except of course for the
repository.xml that each node will have)...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Got it, so if I want to use the DbFileSystem i should prefix it
differently from others...

Is this a totally temporary FS? or it does indeed have data that needs
to be persisted accross server restarts? Is it something you normally
need to backup?

Answers to these questions will help me determine if i really want to
put it in the db or not...

Perhaps I could put a comment in the wiki about why this needs to be
exclusive per node, once I understand it better.

Thanks a lot again!

Re: Clustering and FileSystem question.

Please forgive for being redundant, but I want to make sure I fully
understand this configuration.

In my config, I have a FileSystem definition for <Repository>, one for
<Workspace> and one for <Revisioning>...

Should I understand that each of these, if put in the DB should NOT be
shared? That's my current understanding and for that I decided to use
the node ID as part of the prefix for each one...

Is this correct?

Also, is there a way to know the node_id via config, like
${cluster.node.id} ?

Thanks again for your kind response!

No, the filesystem is local only and must not be shared. This wiki
page about clustering is actually "complete" ;-) :
