Current Status of Font Support for PDF

Hello

I'm wondering if somebody is currently working on (or has plans for)
extending font support in FOP. I've read the discussions about the fonts
in FOP back to July 2000 and I see that there is still some work to do.
I'm currently working on a project where we'd like to use FOP and where
we will need custom font support, at least for Type 1 fonts (PDF only,
no AWT).
