Agenda:

1. New patch on JDO-751 "Support for Java8 Optional" https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JDO-751

Making progress. Tests with orElse in the WHERE clause have been removed from the tests. Chaining of references of optional still fails. Patch is almost ready to commit pending resolution of the chained optional references. See agenda item 3.

2. JDO-747 "Behavior of delete() with multiple concurrent Transactions" https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JDO-747

Changes seem to be needed in datanucleus. Refreshing a persistent-new object needs to be investigated.

3. Experiments with queries and multiple navigations

Query with a filter employee.manager.manager == null seems to return the wrong result. The generated SQL uses a left outer join for the first navigation and an IS NULL for the second. 

4. JDO 3.1: Need to go through change lists in JIRA for 3.1 RC1 and 3.1 to prepare JCP Change Log
