[jira] [Created] (INFRA-4921) Ruby ldap has stopped working

Sebb created INFRA-4921:
---------------------------

Summary: Ruby ldap has stopped working
                 Key: INFRA-4921
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-4921
             Project: Infrastructure
          Issue Type: Bug
      Security Level: public (Regular issues)
            Reporter: Sebb

The people build shows the following error:

BUILD FAILED
/x1/home/apsite/wrkdir/people/build.xml:113: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/x1/home/apsite/wrkdir/people/build.xml:135: The following error occurred while executing this line:
/x1/home/apsite/wrkdir/people/build.xml:230: exec returned: 1

This was previously not noticed, because the build was failing due to Python LDAP not working.
I recently disabled the Python target, so the build now reaches the Ruby target.

<danielsh> net/ruby-ldap and net/py-ldap2 are part of the build, but former isn't installed and latter exhibits a compiler error during install-time build steps.

It looks like whimsy has the required module:

https://svn.apache.org/repos/infra/infrastructure/trunk/machines/vms/whimsy-vm.apache.org/README

...
gem1.9.1 install ruby-ldap
...

Perhaps that can be added to minotaur?

-----------------------------

I don't see a reference to net/py-ldap2 - is it really needed for Ruby LDAP?

Can you try installing net/ruby-ldap?
That might be sufficient.
