Catalan Valencia RACV (ca-XR) test version for MacOS available

Hi,

Catalan Valencia RACV is now 100% UI translated but it is a new language
that we had never released before. This means there is some more work
necessary and I am not sure if the change I have made are enough. A
first est version for MacOS is available under [1].

I will prepare a Windows and Linux test version as well, this versions
are all based on trunk. If it works and the builds are usable I will
merge it for AOO 4.1.1

Windows and Linux will be available later today or on Monday.

But does it make sense to use the ca help translation instead of having
a plain English help?

Good to know that it works in general.

I currently don't know how to fix it and have to check the code in more
detail. But I have limited time at the moment and any kind of help would
appreciated, I can't promise a fix from my side.

Done in trunk (so, this is already done for the future major version,
like 4.2.0). I've requested porting to 4.1.1 to have it in 4.1.1 too, follow
https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125285
for more information.

I'm agree with you, global code is "ca" due to standards. Following this
rule we have a spell checker in http://extensions.openoffice.org since 2008.

Thanks

The deadline for that was yesterday, but I can still include them in
trunk (our "work in progress" version) if we manage to get them during
this weekend and then we can see whether to include them in 4.1.1 as a
low-risk update.

The main issue I see is that the document language is set to Catalan
("ca", both for ca-XV and ca-XR) since we can't set a "private" code for
a document language due to interoperability reasons. To put it simple:
the UI translation is not a problem, but the produced document must
respect limitations set in standards.

So, for the dictionaries to work, you should prepare them so that they
are for the "ca" language and not "ca-XR". You must also host them as
extensions at http://extensions.openoffice.org/ and upload the releases
there, since we will download them at build time. Please ask if you need
further details (about the OXT packaging or the site), or just send the
link here.

Regards,
   Andrea.

Jürgen those are our translations (ca-XR), I have tried the Windows
version and all programs started well, the only issue I found is, as
Andrea says, that our translation in Options is listed as "Català" when
should display "Valencian (RACV)", if this is corrected will be perfect!

In addition, we have spellchecker and synonyms dictioanries, could they
be added to our individual release?

Thanks for your work!

Bon dia (Good morning) Jordi,
as Jürgen said the Windows is an archive version so you need to extract
contents to a folder and them run executable files (sbase.exe,
scalc.exe, sdraw.exe, simpress.exe, smath.exe, swriter.exe) or the main
menu "soffice.exe".

I am not sure if this was expected but I find this acceptable, looking at
the screenshot you sent.

I am not able to install the Windows archive version. I did not find in
Google how to install that, as I am missing the setup.exe file which I find
usually in the installable version.

A Windows archive version is now also available under

I will merge it on the branch and if the lang community says it's ok we

Thanks a lot. I installed it on an Ubuntu virtual machine and the
installation succeeded.

The Language in Options was listed at "Català" though:

http://people.apache.org/~pescetti/tmp/2014-07-l10n-ca-xr/screenshot-ca-xr-options.png

is that expected? (Italian as default locale is normal; that's how the
VM is setup).

Of course, I don't know differences well enough to notice if this is the
ca, ca-xv or ca-xr translation; we'll need the relevant volunteers to
comment on that. But if you were interested in knowing if it started and
operated normally, it does. I can take any other screenshots if this helps.
