How can I mix several layouts?

Hello,

how can I mix several layouts in one page? It would be nice to create a Layout with ThreeColumn at the first row and OneColumn at the second row. The nested-layout example is not suitable, because of the second tab row.

A simple example:

tab | tab | tab | tab | tab
-----------------------------------
|     1    |    2    |    3     |
|                 1              |

best regards

Hello Jacek,

this change has no effect. Do you have a working example?

best regards

I think that the only thing you should change is:
   <fragment id="dp-12" type="portlet" name="j2-admin::LoginPortlet">
     <property layout="TwoColumns" name="row" value="0"/> <-- HERE
     <property layout="TwoColumns" name="column" value="1"/> <-- HERE
   </fragment>

In fragments with id="poll" and id="dp-12" you have row 0 and 1
respectively with the same column 0, that's why they are displayed one
above another. In fact, the row should be the same (0) and only columns
different (0 and 1).

Anton, Have you tried using the edit page function. You can use the
Add button to nest layouts. You will need to start with a 'One Column
Layout Using Velocity' then Add a 'Three Columns Layout Using Velocity
and Tables' and then using the same Add button Add a 'One Column
Layout Using Velocity'. This will give you what you have in your
example.

Hello Jacek,

if I nest a layout fragment into a other layout-fragment a second header
with tab row and logo appears after the first portlet.
Here is my example:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<page>

<defaults skin="orange" layout-decorator="tigris"
portlet-decorator="blue-gradient" />

<title>Startseite</title>

<metadata name="title" xml:lang="de">Startseite</metadata>

<fragment id="startpage" type="layout"
name="jetspeed-layouts::VelocityOneColumn">

<fragment id="news" type="portlet" name="wettportal::StartNews">

<property layout="OneColumn" name="row" value="0" />

<property layout="OneColumn" name="column" value="0" />

</fragment>

<fragment id="11" type="layout" name="jetspeed-layouts::VelocityTwoColumns">

<property layout="OneColumn" name="row" value="1"/>

<fragment id="poll" type="portlet" name="wettportal::PollPortlet">

<property layout="TwoColumns" name="row" value="0" />

<property layout="TwoColumns" name="column" value="0" />

</fragment>

<fragment id="dp-12" type="portlet" name="j2-admin::LoginPortlet">

<property layout="TwoColumns" name="row" value="1" />

<property layout="TwoColumns" name="column" value="0" />

</fragment>

</fragment>

</fragment>

<security-constraints>

<security-constraints-ref>public-view</security-constraints-ref>

</security-constraints>

</page>

Nest one layout fragment in another (e.g. the root containing also
portlet fragments) and work with it as with a regular layout fragment.
