Apache and the JCP

While I can appreciate that this project was created originally
for the purposes of creating and implementing a JSR, the fact is
that the Apache Kato project itself is a SOFTWARE project at the
ASF.

The consequences of that fact are that the project is free from
any shackles that JCP participation may have once misplaced on
it-  feel free to take the reference implementation and make use
of the org.apache.kato namespace to create your own de-facto
standard.  Apache will help the project promote your work as far
and as wide as you care to take it.

OTOH if there are no current PPMC members who are willing to actively
work on this project unless and until Oracle makes a business decision
around the JSR, I suggest we start looking for people who will.
