I had been using Writer OO 3.3 lately and I was called to upgrade to Apache
3.4, which I did.
Since then, the programm constantly crashes after the opening : impossible to
edit text or save changes. Recovery is offered but nothing is found nor is
changed.
I uninstall Aoo 3.4 to reinstall it.
Same results.
I checked on forum and tried a solution (like rename a file into
"oldopenoffice") but nothing changed, and I can't work anymore...It's been a
week now..
I'm a writer.. :-S

Hi, i got the same error on windows 7 64bit Asus laptop.
after upgrading to 3.4 write crash after few seconds after loading documents.
i try to rename the open AppData/roaming/office/3/user directory as i see
suggested in different web pages.
Sometime i can write for some day without problem, but sometime (like today) i
can't open my documents.
my ooo is italian version (as like windows 7).
i generate some print/pdf pages using data in database.
I may provide details on request.

I have the same problem with the program even when there is no file open I get
the same report " aoo crashes " and it restart ??!!

There is a known issue with some updates from OOo 3.3.0 to AOO 3.4.0 or 3.4.1.
A the problem is described in the "known issues" section of the Release Notes:

since upgrading to 3.4 OO has constantly crashed when I have been using Writer
or Calc. Even with a document open but when the app doesn't have focus (i.e.
it is inactive) it crashes. It is becoming totally unusable.
OS is Win7.
I tried an uninstall ans a clean install but this has not solved the problem.
