I encountered the same error when I build Hadoop-3.3-SNAPSHOT on Fedora 29. I applied the patch with fixing some code conflicts on latest trunk. Then, the build succeeded. Thanks [~lhofhansl] for your work. It would be awesome if a formal patch is worked out and merged to upstream.
