bug in org.apache.xalan.xsltc.runtime.output.TransletOutputHandlerFactory

------- Additional Comments From pvojtechovsky@usu.cz 2004-04-22 07:19 -------
org.apache.xalan.xsltc.runtime.output.TransletOutputHandlerFactory does not
initialize SerializationHandler well. Following code

TransformerFactory loXslProcessorFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
Transformer loXslProcessor = loXslProcessorFactory.newTransformer
(loXSLFileStream);
//loXslProcessor.setOutputProperty("encoding", "UTF-8"); //this also does not
help
loXslProcessor.transform(loXMLFileStream, new StreamResult(new StringWriter()));

runned with:
-
Djavax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory=org.apache.xalan.xsltc.trax.TransformerF
actoryImpl

with version.xalan2x=Xalan Java 2.6.0 (checked by EnvironmentCheck)

throws:
org.xml.sax.SAXException: Attempt to output character of integral value 160
that is not represented in specified output encoding of UTF-8

for this XSL input:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:output method="text" encoding="UTF-8"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
	<xsl:text> </xsl:text>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

The problem is that TransletOutputHandlerFactory creates ToTextStream, but DOES
NOT CALL ToTextStream.setOutputFormat and at the end
ToTextStream.m_maxCharacter=127.
