Canonical Hostnames example in Rewriting Guide is broken

The rewriting guide says explicitly, that the rules provided there are written
in order to work within the *server context* and you may have to change them
within directory context (which is, effectively within .htaccess files).

The regexps are valid there. However, the rewrite guide is not perfect and we
know that. But until someone writes something better, we have to stick with it :)
