Summary: path attribute wrongly encoded in the stop task
Product: Tomcat 5
Version: 5.5.20
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Webapps:Manager
AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: demichelis@danidemi.com
There's a problem with Catalina Ant tasks, in the path attribute.
Define in an Ant build file the stop task.
<taskdef name="stop" classname="org.apache.catalina.ant.StopTask">
<classpath refid="ant.classpath" />
</taskdef>
Then include a task that perform a stop of a running web application
<stop url="${tomcat.manager.url}" username="${tomcat.manager.username}"
password="${tomcat.manager.password}" path="/myapp"/>
What you obtain is:
BUILD FAILED
C:\app\build.xml:258: java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code:
401 for URL: http://10.212.21.130:5050/manager/stop?path=%2Fmyapp
I think what is wrong is that the the character '/' is encoded by the stop task,
and used when the manager application URL is called.

That's extremely unlikely given that the error code is a 401 (authorisation
required). You might want to check your config.

Rick is correct. This is a configuration issue. Please use the users list if you
need further assistance.
