[jira] [Created] (HADOOP-8695) TestPathData fails intermittently with JDK7

Trevor Robinson created HADOOP-8695:
---------------------------------------

Summary: TestPathData fails intermittently with JDK7
                 Key: HADOOP-8695
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-8695
             Project: Hadoop Common
          Issue Type: Bug
         Environment: Apache Maven 3.0.4
Maven home: /usr/share/maven
Java version: 1.7.0_04, vendor: Oracle Corporation
Java home: /usr/lib/jvm/jdk1.7.0_04/jre
Default locale: en_US, platform encoding: ISO-8859-1
OS name: "linux", version: "3.2.0-25-generic", arch: "amd64", family: "unix"
            Reporter: Trevor Robinson

Failed tests: testWithDirStringAndConf(org.apache.hadoop.fs.shell.TestPathData): checking exist
  testToFile(org.apache.hadoop.fs.shell.TestPathData): expected:<file:/tmp> but was:</data/md0/hadoop-common/hadoop-common-project/hadoop-common/target/test/data/testPD/d1>

{{testWithStringAndConfForBuggyPath}} (which is declared last and therefore runs last with JDK6) overwrites the static variables {{dirString}} and {{testDir}} with {{file:///tmp}}. With JDK7, test methods run in an undefined order, and the other tests will fail if run after this one.
