How to get path to an installed pom?

Hello, all.

I'm not sure it's a proper place for this question. Please redirect
me if it's not.

Does anybody know, if it's possible to get the path to the .pom file
accompanying installed primary project artifacts from the Maven API?

My current solution is to replace the extension of a primary artifact
file with "pom", but I'm not sure this a correct way.
