[jira] Commented: (QPID-1714) I/O Error while using 'Clear Queue' from Qpid Management Console

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-1714?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=12697236#action_12697236 ]

Robert Gemmell commented on QPID-1714:
--------------------------------------

I have been unable to replicate this error; i have repeatedly pumped a persistent queue with several thousand persistent messages and cleared it without issue.

( Full disclosure; I was originally experiencing an issue earlier this evening with FailedDequeueException's which investigation found to be the result of the BDBMessageStore attempting to remove the same message twice, but Martins recent commits [if only id waited until tomorrow I wouldnt have wasted a fair bit of time, grr....no matter, found a different bug while I was at it :P] for QPID-1794 have corrected that. )

> From a user:
> Clear Queue' option in Qpid Management Console works successfully if there are less messages and gives I/O exception (org.apache.qpid.protocol.AMQConstant) if there are large number of messages in the queue undelivered.
> Steps to reproduce:
> 1. pump a persisent queue with messages (I had errors even with 200 messages) in the queue
> 2. Connect to the broker with Qpid Management Console, select the queue, and choose tab 'Clear Queue' and press 'execute'.
> This error does not happen when I have around 50 messages (not sure of the limit) in the queue while it clears the queue successfully.
