This is normal behaviour, if your clients don't wait long enough for the
responses (e.g. Browser Users pressing "again"). Unfortunately it looks more
ugly, than it is.

You should log response times in your access log and then check, if (most) of
the occurences of "broken pipe" relate to the times of long running requests.

I'll close this. If you think the problem does not relate to aborting clients,
please reopen and add the necessary details (product versions, configs, log files).
