It's unlikely that I'll get back to this anytime soon, but the explanation is above and the code should not require a large change. Let me know if one of you wants to do this, and I am available to help.
I took a quick look at the latest codebase, and this operator has moved to `airflow/providers/cncf/kubernetes/operators/kubernetes_pod`. If no one takes this on in the next few weeks, I'll circle back to it.
