Space before quick-close when output type = XML
Are there any plans to make an xsl:output method="XHTML"?
If not, consider the following enhancement to the next version of xalan:
Always include a space before the slash in a quick-close tag in your XML
output.
Good: <cows />
Bad: <cows/>
There is no need to change the way full containers are closed. The
following is fine:
<cows>milky</cows>
With this change, I could set the output type to XML and create valid XHTML
documents. Without the space before the slash Netscape gets very confused.
The benefit of XHTML is that I can post it on the web for browsing, or parse
it (or re-parse it) using XSL.
Thank you very much for you time.
