[jira] [Created] (AMBARI-10941) Remove Encryption section (Key
Server+Port) from HDFS Settings page
Srimanth Gunturi created AMBARI-10941:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Remove Encryption section (Key Server+Port) from HDFS Settings page
Key: AMBARI-10941
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-10941
Project: Ambari
Issue Type: Task
Components: contrib
Affects Versions: 2.1.0
Reporter: Srimanth Gunturi
Assignee: Srimanth Gunturi
Fix For: 2.1.0
* In most scenarios, users would install KMS(es) through Ambari and have Ambari manage the list of KMS(es) in relevant configs.
* In advanced scenarios, users may want to specify existing KMS(es).
Conclusion: We can drop the Encryption section from HDFS Settings page. If the user needs to override, he/she can go to Advanced.
On the Ambari side, we need to make sure that when the user adds a new KMS to the cluster, the relevant configs are updated automatically to include the newly added KMS.
