JSP and Bean

I am now using Jsp and beans to connect to Xindice 

I can't connect to collection and the error calls me to set the 'openorb.home' property. What's that? 

However, I can connect to the collection with the same coding in java application. why? 

Any sample on how Jsp can connect to database? Thanks a l
